Electoral offences have been normalised in Nigerian elections. This is in spite of the fact that the Electoral Act 2010 lists a variety of offences in relation to things like voter registration, nomination of candidates, use of ballot papers and boxes, vote buying, wrongful voting, violence/disorderly conduct, and election expenses.

These offences also attract penalties of fines, imprisonment or both. We carry out research and sensitisation campaigns on electoral offences in order to educate people on the consequences of engaging in electoral offences, and hopefully reduce the incidence of electoral offences in Nigeria.

It is also important that electoral offenders are prosecuted in order to deter others from carrying out electoral offences in the future. For this reason, we have compiled a register of electoral offenders. The register can be viewed below.
